Knowledge is something that is known to be associated with the learning process. This
learning process is influenced in such a variety of factors from outside factors such as
motivation and means of information avalaible as well as socio-cultural circumstances.
Complementary Feeding (MP-ASI) is food other than breast milk. These foods can be
distinguished in prepared foods or foods that are specifically in modifikasi.
This study aims to reveal the mother’s knowledge regarding the provision of
complementary feeding for children 6-24 months in villages Tobarakka Pitumpanua Wajo
This research is a survey wih descriptive approach. Sample are children age 6-24 months
with a total sample of 30 samples were obtained by purposive sampling. The data of
mother’s knowledge were obtained through interviews using a questionnaire and then
processed using computer. The data presented in tables and narrative.
The results showed that the mother’s knowledge is good about gift weaning in age of 15
(50%), while the mother’s knowledge less as many as 15 (50%). Knowledge of mother’s
who either about the form of gift food as much as 12 people (40%), while the lack of
knowledge of mothers who were 17 people(60%). Mothers knowledge who either about
frequency of complementaryfeeding as many as 28 people (93,3%), while the mothers
knowledge that is less by 2 people(6,7%), knowledge about the mother who both portions
of gift weaning as much as 7 or (23,3%), while the mother’s knowledge people who less
as many as 23 people(76,7%).
Recommended for mothers who have children aged 6-24 months in villages Tobarakka
districts Pitumpanua Wajo increased knowledge about complementary feeding properly
and precise. To the clinic Tobarakka urban villages in order to provide education on
complementary feeding to mothers who have children aged 6-24 months.
